James Bond's Iconic Actor, Sean Connery, Passed On

Updated: Nov 11, 2020

Sir Sean Connery passed away at the age of 90 on the 31st of October 2020.

Best known for his performances as James Bond in 'Dr. No', 'Goldfinger', 'From Russia With Love', and 'Thunderball', Sean Connery defined the super-spy character and is often cited as the best portrayal in numerous rankings.

As well as starring in Bond, Connery was also known for his roles in 'The Hunt For Red October', 'Indiana Jones & The Last Crusade', Michael Bay's 'The Rock', John Boorman's 'Zardoz', and 'Finding Forrester'.

Connery received his one and only Oscar in 1988 for the role of Malone, the hard-bitten beat cop in Brian DE Palma's splashy Prohibition-era crime thriller, 'The Untouchables', starring opposite Kevin Costner and Robert DeNiro as Al Capone.

In recent years, Connery had retired from acting after the disastrous production of 'The League of Extraordinary Gentlemen'. Despite efforts to have him reprise his role as Dr. Henry Jones in 'Indiana Jones & The Kingdom of The Crystal Skull', Connery hadn't starred in a live-action role for seventeen years.

Connery is survived by his wife, Micheline Roquebrune, his son Jason Connery, and his grandson Dashiell Connery. He will be remembered in the Film Industry as one of the most iconic and charismatic actors of the 20th century.
